VAT

iHerb is registered in the Import One-Stop Shop (IOSS) and will collect, declare, and pay the VAT to the tax authorities for distance sales of imported goods with a value not exceeding €150. VAT is included transparently in our pricing. Order limit/value caps may be in place for some couriers to support automated clearance.

Customs Duties & Handling Fees

At iHerb, we know you don’t want surprise costs. For orders of €15 or more, iHerb covers any applicable customs duties and handling fees, so you won’t pay them at checkout or on delivery. While these charges are displayed at checkout for full transparency, you will see an automatic discount applied to cover them. If your order meets the €15 threshold and you are charged unexpectedly upon delivery, please contact Customer Service and we’ll help.

What are these charges?

From July 2026, a €3 customs duty applies to certain goods imported into the EU in parcels valued at €150 or less. This is part of new EU customs rules designed to create fairer competition, strengthen product compliance checks, and support customs processing for the growing volume of international e-commerce shipments.

From November 2026, a €2 handling fee additionally applies to goods imported into the EU, regardless of value.

How are they calculated?

The €3 duty and the €2 fee each apply per customs product category, not per iHerb product category or per parcel. If your order contains multiple products in the same customs category, the duty and fee apply once. If your order contains products in different customs categories, they apply separately to each category.

Examples

If your order contains three supplements that all belong to the same customs category, a €3 customs duty and a €2 handling fee will apply. If your order contains supplements, skincare products, and pet products that fall into three different customs categories, customs duties of €9 and handling fees of €6 will apply (€3 and €2 per category).

Timing

We endeavour to deliver to you as quickly as possible. All iHerb orders are air-freighted directly to Europe from our temperature-controlled, GMP/IOSS certified warehouses in the USA. Estimated delivery times are shown clearly at checkout.

On occasion, some orders may be subject to longer transit times due to regional air freight delays, terminal customs clearance bottlenecks, or any other unforeseen complications outside of iHerb's control.

Courier Information

• Global Air: All duties, taxes, and import fees are pre-collected at checkout to expedite customs clearance; no further customer payments are required upon delivery.
• Slovenská pošta: Duties, Taxes, and Fees Prepaid. All duties, taxes, and import fees are pre-collected at the time of checkout to expedite customs clearance; no further payments are required at the time of delivery.

Restrictions

At iHerb, we respect the rules and regulations of each government and do our best to block prohibited products from appearing on our site. However, local import compliance regulations change frequently. Therefore, we strongly recommend that Austrian customers conduct due diligence to verify that the specific products you are importing are fully permitted for personal consumption by checking with the State Institute for Drug Control (ŠÚKL) or customs authorities.
